If weather conditions seem hazardous for highway travel and a coach questions the feasibility of traveling within the District 5 area, the following procedures should be followed:
1. The traveling coach must call D5 League Coordinator, Bill Breeden 952.715.9605
2. The call MUST be made by a coach or team manager, NOT a parent.
League Coordinator will retrieve information on travel advisories and make a decision on the game in question. If it is decided that the game should be played, and isn’t, the game will be recorded as a forfeit. The traveling team will be fined for not playing a league game.
Your association schedulers pulled out all the stops and rescheduled the entire league in 10 days. This is a pretty remarkable amount of work in a short window of time. Be sure to thank them for their efforts.
Please check your team schedules and let the association schedulers know if something looks in error (example being an afternoon game on a weekday, etc.) District play-off information will be posted in a few weeks. Last game of league play will be February 27th for Bantam (AA, A, B), Pee Wee (AA, A, B1), Girls (U15B, U12A, U12B). These teams will then play enter into the district tournament to identify region playoff qualifiers. That tournament will run from March 5th to March 14th. Pee Wee B2 season will run through March 13th with a district tournament to follow. Squirt (A, B, C) and Girls U10B season will run through March 28th which will conclude district play (no tournament for these leagues).
Bantam and Girls U15 games will move to 75 minute ice blocks eliminating the resurfacing intermission. Ice time pressure is great with the high schools also trying to schedule 18 game seasons during the same window as our league play.
